Is there anything similar to peanuts that aren't as fatty or calorie dense but have a similar amount of protein? I mean similar as in convenience like something I can bring to school as a snack.

why would you want something less calorie dense? and less fat? bearing in mind the fats in peanuts are mainly mono and polyunsaturated which are good for the body

Just don't want to have too much fat, because I am having a lot more milk in my diet, and the shake I use is fattening. I don't really mind the calories though.
