as has been said, focus on diet, if you start going high rep and not lifting heavy, you give your body no reason to maintain your muscle during the cut. during a cut it is important to keep lifting heavy.

While cutting I will rarely change my routine, if at all. I change my diet drastically and my cardio but as far as lifting there is not much difference. I only chance my routines when I feel a plateau was reached; however, sometimes certain exercises plateau before others so I just implement other exercises into my routines at that time.
One thing that so many people make the mistake of is trying to alter their exercise routines while keeping their diet the same. You will see drastically superior results by altering your diet rather than your lifting routine, IMO.
